A paintings Womb

In this latest series ‘A paintings womb’, I show walls of the studio where the painting is born. The traces of previous works, and painterly actions lie hiden or are store within these walls. The leftovers and residues caused by painterly actions like, paint -platters and drippings mark these walls. I want to show the mentality and the origin of the work and not the ‘done museum piece’. I want to welcome you to a more intimate and introvert side.
Paintings like ‘Blank canvas’ and ‘Diptych’ are about that new beginning, that new adventure that lies a head when a painter starts on a new work. It’s almost magical, so full of possibilities, ambition and most of all hope.

Many more works of this series will be exhibited in the SM'-s Stedelijk museum 's-Hertogenbosch NL on the 29th of October 2011 till the 15th of January 2012. Click on a image to enlarge and click here for more info.
